First Toric IntraOcular Implant FDA Approved
September 29, 2005

While I dont know the exact range of correction that will be available, this represents a step forward in the correcion of cataracts and for those individuals having a non-cataractous lens removed for prue refractive purposes, ie. substitute for contacts and glasses. This surgery is likely to reserved for those over 50, but well see what the final announcement of the FDA has to say when its available. Another step in the right direction for the future of refractive surgery.
